Parent–Child & Parent-Teen Therapy

When a child or teenager is struggling, it can affect the whole family. Parent–child and parent–teen therapy offers a supportive space to strengthen relationships, improve communication, and help families feel more confident moving forward.

Therapy with Younger Children
Younger children often show their feelings through behaviour rather than words. Worry, anger, withdrawal, or changes at school can be signs that something feels overwhelming.
Parent–child therapy for younger children is gentle and child-led, using age-appropriate approaches to help them feel safe and understood. Parents play an important role, supporting emotional connection, reassurance, and understanding at home. The aim is to help children feel secure, while helping parents feel more confident in responding to their child’s needs.

Therapy with Older Teens
Adolescence can be a challenging time. Teenagers may struggle with anxiety, low mood, identity, or relationships and may find it hard to talk openly with parents.
Parent–teen therapy offers a balanced, respectful space where teens can feel heard and parents can gain insight into what their teen is experiencing. Sessions may include joint work and individual time, supporting communication, trust, and a sense of independence.
How I Work
I work in a calm, compassionate, and confidential way, guided by what each family brings in the here and now. With extensive experience supporting children and young people, my aim is to help families feel more connected, supported, and able to move forward together.
