Child/Teen Therapy
Every child can face times when they feel lost, unsure, or overwhelmed by the ups and downs of life. While parents and carers can offer support, children often benefit from a consistent, safe, and confidential space where they can explore their feelings openly. Being able to express even the most difficult emotions in a supportive environment can bring immense relief, understanding, and a sense of safety — helping children feel heard, seen, and supported as they navigate life’s challenges.
What Child Counselling Offers
Child therapy helps children:
-
Understand and communicate their emotions
-
Explore worries, fears, or difficult feelings in a safe environment
-
Build emotional awareness and resilience
-
Feel empowered, confident, and supported
-
Develop a stronger sense of self
Counselling can be delivered individually or in small groups, depending on what is most helpful for your child.
How I Work
I provide child counselling in Earls Colne, Essex, supporting children from Colchester and surrounding areas. Online sessions are available for older children when appropriate.
My approach is person-centred, focusing on what matters most to your child. I can also integrate creative and expressive methods, including:
-
Play
-
Art and drawing
-
Puppetry
-
Sand tray work
-
Storytelling
These approaches help children express thoughts and feelings that may be difficult to put into words, making therapy engaging, meaningful, and safe.
Tailored to Your Child
I understand that each child is unique. I work flexibly to respond to:
-
Individual needs and learning styles
-
Different developmental stages
-
Neurodiversity
This ensures therapy is accessible, supportive, and appropriate for every child.
